Massachusetts paper products, Marty Kelly Paper, gives advice on save-the-dates for couples looking to send out invites for the upcoming wedding season! ~AY
……………………..
With Spring 2010 weddings only about 6 months away, ‘tis the season for save-the-dates!
Your save-the-date provides your guests with a first glimpse at the style and tone of your wedding. Typically less formal than a wedding invitation, your save-the-date is a great place to express your personality as a couple. Does your design sensibility lean towards simple and traditional, or do you like a little sass and whimsey? Etiquette protocols are quite relaxed here, so get those creative juices flowing and enjoy!
Here are a few samples of save-the-dates created by Marty Kelly Paper. Can you tell that Meghan’s wedding was classic and elegant, Melissa was all about her love for Martha’s Vineyard, and Leah was flat out fun?!

Save-the-dates can be a very helpful planning tool for out-of-town guests, particularly if you are having a destination wedding. Popular vacation spots book up quickly, and your guests will need to plan their travel and accommodations early. To assist your guests with their plans, you can enclose an information card with your save-the-date, or simply provide your wedding website address, where links to this information can be made available. Your guests will be going to some effort and expense to celebrate with you, and they will truly appreciate the thought and consideration you put into making their travels that much easier.
Here are some sample information cards created by Marty Kelly Paper, and an example of how you can simply and discretely provide website information right on your save-the-date.

New England Paper Products company Custom Ceramics by Traci is featured today in our Vendor Spotlight . Custom Ceramics by Traci can create custom, hand painted items for your wedding including wedding guest book platters and wedding gifts. Check out some information about the company as well as some images of her work below.
KM
Number of Years in Business: 6 years
Pricing Information: $59 – $150
What makes me stand out in what I do? I create and hand make unique, one of a kind signature platters. I use a special painting technique that gives the design dimension. My custom wedding platters are an affordable wedding day keepsake and art piece .
What’s the favorite part of my work? Custom work is always a challenging experience, which I love, because it forces me outside of my comfort zone and allows me to be creative. Also, I truly enjoy working with a bride to create a platter that I know will become a cherished wedding day keepsake.
What do I like to do in my spare time: Pilates, Yoga, Watching Comedy television or movies, Painting inspirational art pieces and hanging with my Bijon Frise – Sushi.
What charity am I supporting and why: ASPCA!!!
1) Up to 10 pieces of advice you’d give a bride when considering your product for a guest book or how to work together to achieve the final look.
What do you think you will do with your guest book once the wedding is passed? A signature platter becomes an instant decorative reminder of your special day.
What design do you want in the middle? A custom design can really represent the wedding day and the couple. Ex. Wedding Colors, Invitation design, Representation of something the couple enjoys doing together.
2) Also, we’d love for you to chat about the different ways a bride can use your product and what design or style is popular right now.
The platter is both a decorative and functional piece that can be displayed on a plate stand or used to serve hors d’ouvres or cheese and crackers…making a great party conversation piece. Currently my most popular design is the double linked hearts, the destination wedding palm trees and the cartoon like bride and groom with or without the bridal party, but mostly I receive custom design orders. A custom design really makes the platter extra special.

This is such an adorable idea for your destination or tropical wedding, what a wonderful keepsake.

You can have Traci match the design on your wedding invitation to continue your wedding theme.

This is a simple design that would work great for any wedding, keep in mind that if you want a simple design like this one, you could choose colors that match your wedding.
