Tulaloo

Number of years in business: Tulaloo opened its studio doors in 2007.

Pricing Information: $3 to $10 per invitation set.

What makes you stand out? We offer great flexibility and options for customizing our wedding stationery. Not only do we match paper and ink colors to the client’s swatches, but we also mix and match elements of designs to create the perfect invitation for YOUR wedding. We swap out belly bands for pochettes, add in crystal embellishments and exchange linen finish stock for shimmery metallic papers. Each base design we offer has limitless possibilities for customization. We also offer Bespoke Design services for a completely original and exclusive wedding stationery wardrobe.

What’s the favorite part of your work? I love designing new stationery. Between our Bespoke clients and thinking ahead to new collections, I constantly have paper on the brain. I even dream about wedding invitations!

If you have any spare time, how do you spend it? When I am not playing with paper I dream of our annual trip to Ogunquit, Maine where we hike, play in the sand with the kids and eat lobster three meals a day.

Which charity(s) are you donating to and why? The Pink Initiative. The wife of one of my best friends is a breast cancer survivor at the young age of 30. Her story is inspiring and I would like to see many more happy outcomes like her’s.

KM

Number of Years in Business: 6 years

Pricing Information: $59 – $150

What makes me stand out in what I do? I create and hand make unique, one of a kind signature platters. I use a special painting technique that gives the design dimension. My custom wedding platters are an affordable wedding day keepsake and art piece .

What’s the favorite part of my work? Custom work is always a challenging experience, which I love, because it forces me outside of my comfort zone and allows me to be creative. Also, I truly enjoy working with a bride to create a platter that I know will become a cherished wedding day keepsake.

What do I like to do in my spare time: Pilates, Yoga, Watching Comedy television or movies, Painting inspirational art pieces and hanging with my Bijon Frise – Sushi.

What charity am I supporting and why: ASPCA!!!

1) Up to 10 pieces of advice you’d give a bride when considering your product for a guest book or how to work together to achieve the final look.
What do you think you will do with your guest book once the wedding is passed? A signature platter becomes an instant decorative reminder of your special day.
What design do you want in the middle? A custom design can really represent the wedding day and the couple. Ex. Wedding Colors, Invitation design, Representation of something the couple enjoys doing together.

2) Also, we’d love for you to chat about the different ways a bride can use your product and what design or style is popular right now.
The platter is both a decorative and functional piece that can be displayed on a plate stand or used to serve hors d’ouvres or cheese and crackers…making a great party conversation piece. Currently my most popular design is the double linked hearts, the destination wedding palm trees and the cartoon like bride and groom with or without the bridal party, but mostly I receive custom design orders. A custom design really makes the platter extra special.
