Wedding Tip of the Day by Tulaloo Stationery Studio

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

Today’s wedding tip is from Jessica Creter of Tulaloo Stationery Studio.  Trying to save money on your wedding stationery?  Check out these DIY and money saving tips below and visit the full expert advice article by Jessica on my Kate Parker Wedding!

tulaloo_stationery_studio

If you are fairly crafty, ask if your stationery package could be discounted if you do some of the assembly. This can be a good way to incorporate a little bit of a DIY project, without having to create the invitations all on your own (because it really is not as easy as we designers make it look!). Not all designers allow this, and at Tulaloo we only offer it with certain aspects of specific designs. But if you are trying to keep costs down, it doesn’t hurt to ask.

Order coordinating stationery pieces. I know – it sounds strange, right? Save money by ordering more stuff? But by having coordinating elements throughout your wedding celebration you create a really sophisticated, cohesive look for the day. In the grand scheme of wedding things, stationery is one of the more affordable elements, and can do double duty as reception decor as well. Beautifully designed menus, table numbers, favors and placecards add color and style to reception tables, and allow you to choose more conservative centerpieces. Sometimes you can even replace centerpieces with artfully arranged favors instead!

Wedding Tip | Tulaloo Paper Products

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Connecticut paper product company, Tulaloo, offers expert advice on wedding invitation wording. Creator Jessica Creter’s tips are especially helpful on how to find the correct wording for the invitation request line. Continue reading below to learn how!

Request Lines
The request line simply lets guests know what they are being invited to. The two most common wording choices are “request the honour of your presence” for a church or synagogue wedding, and “request the pleasure of your company” for a wedding taking place in a hotel, reception hall or other venue. Follow both of these examples, with “at the marriage of their daughter” or “at the marriage of their children” as appropriate. If you are having an especially casual affair feel free to let the request line reflect this with something like “invite you to join in the festivities as they join togeher in marriage”. If you are planning a gay/lesbian wedding, you can replace the terms marriage and wedding with “commitment ceremony”, “civil union”, celebration of commitment”, “relationship blessing” or any other term that you feel best represents your event.

Check out Jessica’s expert advice article for more tips about wedding invitation wording!

Rustic Inspiration

Monday, April 19th, 2010

I heart rustic Monday.  Today I was inspired for todays rustic inspiration on my drive to work.  There is actually green grass growing from the ground!  Hello, Spring!  The first photo that jumped out at me was this shot by Chad Michael Peters.

I thought it was such a creative way to present the rings while tying in the rustic theme.  I decided to pull photos that really captured the outdoor rustic essence, many of which focus on grass, moss, and the beautiful natural green color.  We hope you enjoy today’s rustic inspiration.  Visit my Kate Parker Wedding for more! – allie
