Pink and Gray Wedding Details

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

For a classic wedding style, gray tones and pinks are a perfect color combination to bring a sense of elegance to any part of your event.  MMD Events recently went fun crazy with this color combination for a inspirational design that makes me want to get married again (sorry honey!).  So be sure to get inspired below and visit MMD’s blog for more photos from their photo shoot.

A Recap of This Week’s myKPW Get Together

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

This week was a very exciting week in the myKPW office!  We held one of our my Kate Parker Wedding get togethers on Tuesday and it was a blast.  Eleven of our fab vendors and extended family members joined Kate in a discussion about the client experience.  Each vendor chatted about their experience with their own clients and also what they would love to work on in the future when working with clients, whether it be with their online experience, in person experience, or phone experience.

So for the last bit of the get together, Erin, of Wild Orchid Baking Company, shared with us some delicious treats and her success story when it came to closing with a client.  Kate brought Erin in to share her story because she was so inspired by Erin’s efforts to create and personalize the clients tasting experience.  About a month ago, Erin came in to the myKPW office for a tasting with a potential client.  Erin created the most beautiful little cakes for the client with personalized sugar flowers and the most amazing fondant ever – EVER … seriously.

Most of the time when I’ve been eating cake at wedding, the fondant is the first thing that is scraped off – yuck.  Although it has a great aesthetic, it’s usually hard and tastes like paper, who wants that?  But when Erin came into our office carrying the most adorable little cakes I’ve ever seen and I tasted that fondant – it was literally a revelation.  I know words can’t do it justice, but imagine a melted marshmallow mixed with charleston chew mixed with peeps mixed with whipped sugar.  AMAZING.  All i can say is that you really need to try it yourself – it will change your perspective on fondant forever!

Well, enough ranting, here are some fab photographs by Ned Jackson of Erin’s adorable (not to mention delicious) cakes!

Vintage Inspiration | Bouquets

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

There are several ways to achieve a vintage look when it comes to wedding bouquets.  One way is to use subtle colors to create a soft, romantic bouquet or you can incorporate an antique pin or a handkerchief handed down to wrap your bouquet.  Check out just a few vintage bouquets from myKPW floral designers and wedding planners.

Vintage Inspiration

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Today is vintage Wednesday on my Kate Parker Wedding!  We put together some vintage inspiration, tying in hues of red with the soft photographic texture that many vintage photographs have.  I love the vintage style, which is why these inspiration boards are incredibly fun to come up with every day.  The vintage style of bird cage veils, red lipstick, and the worn-down look always strikes me as incredibly elegant.  I especially love the photograph of the woman holding the book … very Sherlock Holmes!  To see more Inspiration, visit my Kate Parker Wedding.
