Are you ready for fall? I know, sometimes it’s hard to let go of the summer sun, but what’s more cozy than the crisp autumn air and the cozy, intimate feeling it brings? To get you in the mood, just check out the incredible design work by Connecticut floral designer, Datura – A Modern Garden.
Tony from Datura: Jenny and Tom were married at Jenny’s parent’s house in Connecticut – a stunning home that sits nestled in the trees atop a hill. For the ceremony, they chose a spot right in front of the pasture, hoping that the horses would come and be a part of the festivities. We decorated our custom iron arch with tons of southern smilax vine, then accented with purple kale and amaranthus for a natural, earthy look. The aisle was lined, from the house to the rows of benches, with our iron lantern stands. One crook of each stand held a floating candle, the other a simple design of kale, rosehips and amaranthus accented with cranberries.

Connecticut photographer, Bruce Plotkin recently uploaded some great images to his blog from this Ridgefield wedding. First of all.. the DRESS! Alison Fischer from The Plumed Serpent described the gown embellished with seed pearls and delicate ribbon details. Such gorgeous and delicate detail. The couple’s happiness shines through all of these photos! I have to mention the image of the trumpet player, what a shot! Head to Bruce Plotkin’s blog to see more of this beautiful wedding!

I just have to start this off by noting the Mr and Mrs potato heads – they were the centerpieces! Each Mr and Mrs potato head represented a famous movie couple … original, adorable, a DIYers dream. I mean, check out their outfits – done to the T! Totally love it. The bride and groom wore classic attire, the brides dress is stunning with the lace detail. It took me a while to notice and finally figure it out, but I adore the silk bouquets! SO not what I think of when I think fake flowers – there are paths fake flowers can take that just shouldn’t be taken, but these are done right, they’re classy and elegant and just gorgeous. Props to the bride and groom and whoever created these wondrous silk bouquets! This wedding was photographed by myKPW member, Beyond The Lens Photography and was featured on their fabulous blog.

From bold and bright colors to clean and simple lines, modern style details are sure to stand out in the galleries on myKPW! I personally love the hot pinks and deep purples in the photos below! The white couch with red accent pillows totally creates a modern vibe, especially with the rug underneath. Clearly, there are so many ways to add tiny touches to achieve the modern look whether it be a glamourous table setting or a simply decorated cake.

It’s Classic Friday!! Classic makes me think of pink, champagne, up-dos, and roses. The colors are always soft and the atmosphere is always so classy – think Frank Sinatra playing in the background. Check out the classic inspiration below and visit my Kate Parker Wedding for more!
