Do you have a favorite color or color combination that inspires you? If so, then think about incorporating your favorite colors into your wedding celebration. White may be the color synonymous with weddings, but it does not mean you cannot dare to be different! There are so many exciting ways to add drama to your wedding by using your favorite colors. Whether you are choosing a color theme based on the season or based on a reason (my bedroom is periwinkle and I love it!), the colors you choose should be a reflection of you. On your wedding day, surround yourself with colors that make you happy and the rest is easy. Work with wedding professionals who you feel can enhance and bring your ideas to life!
Once you have decided which colors inspire you the most, the fun begins! The first place to incorporate your favorite colors is with your “Save the Date”, followed by your Invitation. Ultimately, this sets the mood of your wedding and gives your guests a glimpse of what is to come.
When you shop for your bridal gown or for the bridal party, don’t be afraid to bring the colors you love into the mix. A hint of color in your gown, a simple sash on the attendant’s dresses or a colorful tie for the groomsmen can show that you have thought of everything! Add beads, a beautiful crystal or a piece of jewelry to your bouquet and wrap the boutonnieres with a complementary ribbon or wire wrapping to add life or personalization to your flowers.
Embellish your centerpieces by adding a touch of the unique to each vase; lemons, limes, chili peppers or even coffee beans are just a few fun ideas that can really get your guests talking! Add drama to your wedding by bringing color into your table linens, napkins or table runners. Don’t forget to add a coordinating chair cover or sash. The possibilities are endless! Look to your local rental company for colorful chargers, china or stemware that works with your color theme. Enhance the overall look of your reception with the addition of fabric flowing from the ceiling and add atmosphere to the bars or food stations by choosing specialty lighting effects in a complementary color gel. Do you have a favorite drink? A signature cocktail enhanced with a splash of color or garnished with fruit is another great way to incorporate color into your reception. Make your guests smile as they look at your coordinating cocktail napkins personalized with a whimsical saying.
Seating details such as the seating chart, escort cards, place cards, table numbers and menu cards can also reflect the color theme that you have chosen. If it goes along with the big picture, don’t be afraid to get creative with your escort cards! Timeless favorites include use of apples, chocolate, leaves or mini gourds. When it comes to choosing your wedding favor, be sure to choose something that relates to you. It can be as simple as a gift bag that can be filled with candy from the candy buffet or a sugar cookie, both which, of course, have been created around the colors of your theme.
In all, these are just a few of the ways to incorporate your favorite color or colors into your wedding celebration. The colors you choose ultimately will create a mood and that mood should be a reflection of you. Set your wedding apart from the rest and let the fun begin!
